About us

Bracknell Sub Aqua Club 434 is delighted to be actively diving, training and socialising again although under sensible Covid-19 hygiene precautions. The swimming pool is open for swimmers and practical scuba training. Theory training is continuing both face-to-face and remotely, please contact the Training Officer for more details. Open water dives are active, if you are booked on one please contact your Dive Manager or the Diving Officer. We look forward to meeting you.

We are a branch of the world’s largest scuba diving club (British Sub Aqua Club) based in Bracknell since 1968. We are a not-for-profit, sociable dive club run by its members, for its members. The club has up to 100 diving and social members and has exclusive access to the Bracknell Leisure Centre (Everyone Active) swimming pool between 20:00 and 21:30 each Thursday. This is used for training, try dives and members who want to try out kit, practice their skills or just come for a swim.

There are dive trips planned for many weekends between March and November. Weekend trips typically run from Weymouth, Plymouth, or Pembroke. Single-day dives are also planned from Swanage and inland lakes such as Wraysbury and Vobster

Most sea based diving takes place from chartered hard boats (with lifts) with dive sites chosen to suit different qualifications and experience. The annual Club Weekend gets as many of our active members together with friends and families for diving and shore-based fun.

Most years we organise longer diving trips to Scotland (Lochaline, Orkney, Shetland), the Mediterranean, the Red Sea or Pacific islands such as Bikini Atol or Truk Lagoon. Details of all planned UK diving trips can be found on the calendar.

We have many nationally qualified instructors which allows us to train most snorkel and scuba BSAC courses from beginners (Ocean Diver) to Advanced Diver qualifications as well as technical instruction for mixed gas and closed circuit rebreathers. We have scuba kit which we can rent out to trainees. We use Facebook, Instagram and emails to keep members updated with events and aim to publish at least one newsletter a year called, Mouthpiece.

Members testimonials

I just really enjoy the way it is a true club, not just a place you come to get a diving qualification.

Excellent and very active scuba diving club. Training from beginners to technical available. All taught within the club.

Excellent club for learning to dive. All age groups are careered for and the club is full of experienced divers who can give a wealth of advice. There is a great social side too with something to offer for all the family.
