New course piloted at Bracknell dive club
30 October 2009

In October 2009, Nick Jewson, BSAC Chief Technical Examiner, piloted a new technical skills development course at Bracknell Sub Aqua Club. The new Accelerated Decompression Procedures (ADP) course will replace the Advanced Nitrox qualification

Eighteen club members attended the pilot and learned how to use a new set of BSAC tables ‘OX–STOP’ which allow divers to switch from their back gas at the deco stop to a richer mix of either 50% or 80%. This in turn reduces the decompression time required in the water.

The course was attended by a wide range of experienced divers from those who have held the Advanced Nitrox Diver qualification for many years to two students who had only passed the exam a week earlier.

More information about the ADP course can be found in the training section of this website.
