Skill Development Course (SDC)

Sports Mixed Gas

Minimum entry level: 18 years of age with BSAC Sports Diver or equivalent with a valid 35m depth certification and at least 60 logged dives.

Sports Mixed Gas divers will be competant to dive to 50m max depth with a suitably qualified buddy using oxygen, nitrogen and helium mixtures. The course will include dive planning for dives with mandatory decompression.


Course programme

6 x theory lectures
1 x theory assignment
1x dry practical lesson
1 or more x confined water lessons
2 x open water lessons

Theory lessons and dry practicals usually run on Thursday evenings from 7.30pm – 10.00pm in our lecture room.

Open water lessons normally take place at The National Dive and Activity Centre, Chepstow or Stoney Cove Dive Centre, Leicestershire.
