Skill Development Course (SDC)

Oxygen Administration

Minimum entry level: BSAC Ocean Diver, PADI Open Water or equivalent.


This course is designed to teach the administration of oxygen on the surface as a means of increasing the effectiveness of first aid treatment of diving accidents.

Course content includes:

  • basic life support including use of pocket mask
  • first aid using oxygen and diving Incidents
  • casualty assessment
  • oxygen administration equipment including assembly
  • oxygen administration in practice


    Course programme

    1 x theory lecture
    2 x extended dry practical lessons
    Theory and practical assessment

    Theory lessons and dry practicals are usually run on Thursday evenings from 7.30pm – 10.00pm in our lecture room.


    Costs 

    Course pack including student manual and qualification card on successful completion of course is £23.00 + P&P* Or FOC if taken as part of the Dive Leader training course. There will also be minor expenses to pay to recover the cost of refilling the O2 cylinder(s) at the end of the course - these expenses will be shared amongst all students attendiong the course.
