Our dive club

Bracknell Sub Aqua Club is an affiliated member of the British Sub Aqua Club. We have UK dive boats organised most weekends from April through to October and a wide and varied programme of training. We also organise foreign holiday trips and social events.

We have been training new divers for over 40 years. But we also have a number of members who completed their initial dive training with other organisations such as PADI but have joined us to take part in our dive programme and/or to further their training.

New members

New members join either as complete beginners, sometimes having done a try dive with us first whilst others join as qualified divers with a range of experience.

We welcome all newcomers including divers who have qualified with other approved dive agencies such as PADI. Qualified divers may dive with us on their current qualification level or take part in BSAC crossover training if they wish.

Our members

Club membership is typically between 80 to 110 members at any one time. Some members turn up most weeks to dive or swim in the club pool or just to have a chat and a drink in the bar later. Others just pop in on an occasional basis to test out their kit, to take part in a particualr club event or training course or just to have a drink and catch up.

Club members can attend numerous courses within the club from Ocean Diver (complete beginner) and Sport Diver (second level qualification) to Diver Leader and Advanced Diver qualifications. We also run a number of Skills Development courses appropriate to a range of qualification levels.

Governance

Our club is run by a committee elected at our Annual General Meeting. This iincludes our Diving Officer who is responsible for the running and safety of all diving in the club and our Training Officer who runs the training programme.
