Fitness to dive

It is essential that you are medically fit to dive. We will therefore ask you to complete a medical health questionnaire before you start diving with the club.

If you have a medical condition and are unable to answer ‘no’ to all of the medical questions on the list, it does not necessarily mean that you will be unable to dive. But we will ask you to seek a medical signoff from a diving doctor. Depending on the nature of your condition, this may be possible by initial telephone contact followed by written follow up, or it may mean that you will need to visit the dive doctor for a full medical examination.

More information about medical matters can be found on the British Sub Aqua Club website. It can also supply a full list of approved diving doctors. The London Dive Chamber is also a good source of information and you can call the diving doctor there for some initial advice.
