Skills Development Course (SDC)

Drysuit training

Minimum entry level: all qualified divers and BSAC Ocean Diver trainees who have completed all theory and sheltered water assessments.

This course is designed to teach members the correct and safe techniques for drysuit diving as well as drysuit care and maintenance.

Course programme

2 x theory lessons
1 x sheltered lessons
1 x open water lesson

Theory lessons will usually run on Thursday evenings from 7.15pm – 8.15pm in our lecture room. Sometimes we run the two theory lessons as one extended lecture and increase the sheltered water lessons to two or three, teaching some of the theory as dry practical at poolside.

Open water lessons will be carried out at a training lake – usually Wraysbury or NDAC.
