Standing for committee

All committee positions are elected on an annual basis and the club invites any paid up member to stand for any position with the exception of Training Officer.

Nominations

Nominations for committee posts are invited prior to the AGM and forms are available from the club secretary for this purposes. All nominations must be made by and seconded by a paid up full diving member.

Diving Officer
The club Diving Officer (DO) is appointed annually by the outgoing club committee. Interested candidates should declare their interest to the club Secretary.
The Diving Officer should hold at least the qualification of BSAC Advanced Diver and ideally be a practicing BSAC Qualified Instructor (minimum Open Water Instructor).

Training Officer
The Training Officer (TO) is appointed by the incoming Diving Officer.

All posts must be held by a full diving member of Bracknell Sub Aqua Club with the exception of the Social Secretary which may be held by a club social member.

Appointments

All nominated members will be ratified at the AGM and in the event that multiple members are standing and have completed nomination and seconded form a vote will be held at the AGM.

If a post is unfilled following AGM, then the new committee will meet to review the situation and approach members to take on the post including any ex-committee member who has stood down due to serving three previous years in the post.

Welfare

In addition to the committee posts, the club also appoints a Welfare Officer.

Their responsibilitiy is to make sure the club takes all reasonable precautions to ensure the safety and wellbeing of those under 18 and other vulnerable people while taking part in activities organised by the club.

The Welfare Officer post must be held by a full diving member. Currently this post is held by Tim Slow.
