Advanced Diver course

Open to qualified BSAC Dive Leaders, PADI Divemasters, NAUI Divemasters, NASDS Dive Supervisors, SAA Dive Leaders and SSI Dive Control Specialists.

The course comprises:

4 x theory lectures
2 x dry practical lessons
2 x open water lessons (at the coast)

Theory and practical lessons normally run 7.30pm – 10.00pm in our lecture room.

Open water lessons take place at different locations on the coast.

Qualification

On successful completion of the course you will be awarded BSAC Advanced Diver certification. This qualification is highly regarded and recognised world-wide. It qualifies you to organise more adventurous branch dives including expedition dives and dives at unknown sites.

PADI equivalent

We welcome qualified divers from other organisations into the club and they can dive according to their current qualification. We also run crossover courses in order to allow PADI and othe dive agency divers to gain BSAC equivalent qualifications.

Costs

All Advanced Diver training courses run within the club are free to paid up club members. You will need to pay a small fee to BSAC for training materials and may be asked to contribute a small amount to instructor costs such as training lake entrance fees or providing a lift to a training site. The Advanced Diver course pack is currently £18.00 + P&P or £28.00 + P&P for crossover students or those requiring a qualification book*. Please check latest prices with the Course Manager when you sign up for the course.

You will need to pay boat charter costs (typically £45.00 – £50.00 per day to include two dives). You will also need to arrange and pay for your own accommodation for coastal weekend dives. This may involve Friday and Saturday night accommodation depending on tides and 'ropes-off' times.
